School at site of RFK's murder is millions of dollars over budget.

Price tag for schools complex at former Ambassador Hotel site now tops $578 million
Is someone getting rich in tearing down the site of RFK's murder and building a school in his name?  Appalling as that idea is it seems so. Nearly $600 million to do this so far? And it's not done yet!

The L.A. school board has approved an additional $6.6 million in expenses related mostly to safety and historic preservation for the Robert F. Kennedy Community Schools, which will serve 4,200 students. (Jay L. Clendenin / Los Angeles Times / June 30, 2010)

Historic preservation? What was preserved? Construction costs have declined by half yet it's millions of dollars over budget?  What is going on? Were any of the materials or work donated in honor of RFK? Apprently not.  Did anyone even ask for any materials or work to be donated to honor RFK?
