On Sept. 12, 1960, John F. Kennedy gave a speech on religious liberty in Houston that many scholars say helped him win election to the presidency. On the 50th anniversary of that famous speech, Rob Boston of Americans United for Separation of Church and State will offer reflections on how things have changed - and how they have not - when it comes to the intersection of religion and politics and will discuss why JFK's vision remains more important than ever five decades later.
Rob Boston is senior policy analyst and assistant director of communications for Americans United for Separation of Church and State. He also serves as assistant editor of AU's monthly magazine "Church & State." Boston is the author of three books on church-state relations and often serves as a spokesman for Americans United, appearing on programs such as CNN's "Anderson Cooper," Fox News Channel's "O'Reilly Factor" and MSNBC's "Countdown with Keith Olbermann."
