Tapes from the Kennedy White House will be played on "ABC World News with Diane Sawyer" and "Nightline" on Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, according to a Sept. 21 press release from ABC Television Network. Hyperion is releasing the audio recordings in the form of a book and two CDs in "Listening In: The Secret White House Recordings of John F. Kennedy."

The formerly secret tapes take viewers inside the White House for a rare chance to hear living history. President John F. Kennedy secretly installed the tapes in the Oval Office himself, and recorded meetings behind closed doors. In the tapes,the President grapples with monumental issues of the era, from from the fight for civil rights to the Cuban missile crisis.
Sawyer will speak exclusively with Caroline Kennedy to discuss the recordings. Caroline Kennedy will also sit down to talk to George Stephanopoulos for an exclusive live interview on "Good Morning America"
These exclusive reports will air Monday, Sept. 24 on "ABC World News with Diane Sawyer" (6:30 p.m., ET) and "Nightline" (11:35 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. In addition, Caroline Kennedy will sit down with George Stephanopoulos for an exclusive live television interview Tuesday, Sept. 25 on "Good Morning America" (7:00-9:00 a.m., ET).
On September 25, Hyperion, in association with the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation, will release "Listening In: The Secret White House Recordings of John F. Kennedy" - a combination of a book and two CDs totaling 2.5 hours of original audio from the secret recordings.
