Louis W. Ivon Chief Investigator for District Attorney Jim Garrison dies


IVON Louis W. Ivon entered peacefully into eternal rest on Wednesday December 18, 2012 at home at the age of 78. He was preceded in death by his parents Jeremiah Ivon and Elizabeth Zahn and five siblings. He is survived by his loving wife Geri Ivon, three daughters Charlene Preveau (Glenn), Darlene Ivon Melvin and Patricia Konnecker (Darren). Louis is survived by his grandchildren Steven Bourquard Jr., Danielle Konnecker, Jennifer Konnecker, Sydney Melvin, Jason Preveau and the late Gregory Bourquard. Great grandchildren Mallory Bourquard, Brooklyn Bourquard and Cole Bourquard as well as many nieces and nephews. He served 16 years on the New Orleans Police Department, during that time he was Chief Investigator for District Attorney Jim Garrison. He was a State Representative from 1984-1992, then became the Chief Administrator for the New Orleans Coroner's Office. Louis was the Judicial Administrator for New Orleans Traffic Court until his retirement in March of 2012. Lou was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a true friend to many, always there to help someone in need. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but will always be fondly remembered. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home on Friday December 21 at 2pm. Visitation will begin at 10am till Mass time.
