Origin of KUBARK

Amy Goodman discussed the word KUBARK on Democracy Now today.  If you've been reading CIA documents in the JFK records collection at Archives II, many of which are available to view online at the Mary Ferrell Foundation website, then you've seen this CIA reference for itself, KUBARK. But, where did it come from? Why did the CIA call it self KUBARK? The answer lies in America's long history of torture and counterintelligence techniques to torture.
