Update on Acorn.net and John Kelin's "Fair Play"

John has contacted me and he has everything on a disc or something.

I would like for all of the past issues of John's "Fair Play" to be online and available to all on some site somewhere.  It was being archived on acorn.net but that site's domain name "acorn.net" has expired on 8/30/2016.

GoDaddy.com seems to have a place holder for the site.  It will either be deleted or renewed and I have absolutely no idea how to renew it or what's involved in renewing it.  Somehow, someway GoDaddy.com is auctioning this domain name.  How that happened I don't know. The auction ends on this Tuesday October 4th, 2016 at 9:12 a.m. Pacific Time.

If you've got $700.00 hanging around you can buy the domain name.  BUT, that only gets you the domain name.  It doesn't get you any of the current content.  So, even if you bought the domain name you're NOT getting any of the "Fair Play" back issues.

John can no longer devote the time to it as he once did, which is fine.  But, I think it's possible to upload everything easier and hopefully cheaper today than it was when John was active in publishing new issues.

Right now none of it is available to see, which I think is a great shame.  Not only were all of my ARRB batch reviews there but there were many great articles too.  So, we're not really going to lose everything, if John Kelin has everything saved on something.

My goal is to get the great, old "Fair Play," all of it, back up on a new site.  We basically need a new site to archive the "Fair Play" content.

I'd gladly contribute to the cost of doing this, and I think others would as well.

Hopefully, "Fair Play" can return in some form soon.  I'd love for it to be archived and for it to be revived with new issues.

Joe
