Do Not Trust Ralph Thomas and for the love of God do not buy his book

Ralph Thomas is another prolific Facebook poster who folks should steer well clear of as I will demonstrate.  He does not know the case and instead of doing his homework he likes to make sensationalistic claims.  He also likes to show images from documents as if they do support his claims.  Recently, he has claimed there is a document in which Ray Rocca said Oswald went to Mexico City as part of intelligence operation and that that required a cover story.  The claim isn't true.

He claimed you'd find this in RIF # 104-10268-10001.  I did not see any such thing.

Here's our discussion:

‪Ralph ThomasHERE IS PREVIOUSLY REPORTED RELATED INFORMATION ON THIS FROM ANOTHER DOC - 112) OSWALD was in Mexico City As Part Of An Intelligence Operation That Required A Cover Story
‪In a 154 page document release in 2017, CIA agent Raymond Rocca had discussed the fact that OSWALD was in Mexico City and indicated that OSWALD was on an intelligence mission that required a cover story. In this document, there is a great deal of information on OWALD’S other actives while in Mexico City. You can obtain a PDF file of this document online by clicking here or at the below link.

This document was brought to light by Larry Rivera and exposed at the 2017 JFK Historical Group (http://changehistjfk.blogspot.com) 2017 DC Conference known as The Big Event hosted by David Denton (http://jfkconferencedc.com)

Raymond Rocca had been an aide to Counterintelligence chief James Angleton. Rocca also told the House Select Committee On Assassinations under oath that the Counterintelligence staff had OSWALD monitored from October 1959 to November 1963. You can read the testimony on this online by clicking here or use the following direct link below.

You can also read a brief bio on who Raymond Rocca was at the Spartacus Educational web site by clicking here or going to the below direct link.

The exposure made by ROCCA that OSWALD was in Mexico City and indicated that he had been on an intelligence mission that required a cover story has profound implications concerning exactly what OSWALD was doing and the exact nature of the trip. When you read the overall information in this file and other files related to it, the overall picture indicates that someone had been impersonating OSWALD and some sort of deep intelligence operation had been going on. When one looks at the total activities of OSWALD before the assassination, the weight of the evidence indicates that OSWALD was involved in some sort of undercover operation for the US government and had been posing as a Pro-Castro sympathizer. It is obvious that OSWALD or someone posing as OSWALD had been attempting to obtain a VISA to enter Cuba in Mexico City. Not only had some sort of deep cover intelligence operation been going on, there may have actually been an underlining secondary operation going on that had been buried under the first operation. When you peel back the first layer, you run right into a secondary operation that could have been deliberately planted deception. There is some murky evidence that would tend to indicate OSWALD might have been attempting to get into Cuba to assassinate FIDEL CASTRO. There is the evidence in the files that indicate that OSWALD had a meeting with a KGB officer who was in charge of assassinations at the Russian embassy. There is some overall evidence that this actually was either not a fact or that the person who had this meeting was impersonating OSWALD. There is some evidence that would tend to indicate OSWALD may had been used unwittingly and had been set up during this operation to make it appear he was a Pro-Castro sympathizer and communist in order to be later used as a patsy in the assassination of JFK that would point to Cuba and/or the Soviets in order to start a war. It is now obvious that all of this had been covered up.

Ralph, something is wrong here. The link you provide to 104-10268-10001 which is a .pdf file from one of the NARA releases for this document does not contain the claim - OSWALD was in Mexico City As Part Of An Intelligence Operation That Required A Cover Story.

Ralph Thomas As indicated in the post, that had been a PREVIOUSLY REPORTED DOCUMENT which is as follows and I REPEAT- 112) OSWALD was in Mexico City As Part Of An Intelligence Operation That Required A Cover Story

Joseph Backes Unfortunately, what you're claiming is not true.

Joseph Backes Show me the page in 104-10268-10001 where Ray Rocca says that Oswald was in Mexico City on an intelligence operation and that that required a cover story.

Ralph Thomas, like Ralph Cinque, takes the work of other people and runs with it.  Where did Ralph Thomas get this idea that Ray Rocca said Oswald went to Mexico City as part of an intelligence operation and that that required a cover story?

He got it from Larry Rivera.  Well, there's your problem right there.  Rivera supposedly made this claim at the 2017 JFK Historical Group conference hosted by David Denton.  And Thomas claims this can be found in 104-10268-10001.

Ralph Thomas's book is a Kindle formatted file.  It's 3,231 pages long!!

Apparently, it's constantly "updated" with his multiple daily Facebook posts.

104-10268-10001 was released on 24 July 2017 with DOCID 32373005.

And again in the 3 Nov 2017 release.
