RFK's first great grandchild born - Gideon Joseph Kennedy McKean

The Washington Post reports:

Born: A son, Gideon Joseph Kennedy McKean, on Monday to D.C. lawyers Maeve Townsend and David McKean. Seven pounds, 12 ounces; 21 inches. Gideon is the first grandchild for former Maryland Lt. Gov. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend and her husband David. . . and the first great-grandchild for Ethel Kennedy and the late Robert F. Kennedy. (And, yes, for you dynasty watchers, the first of what you might call the fifth generation Kennedys.) The 30-ish lawyers — she’s a senior advisor for global affairs at the Department of Health and Human Services, he’s legal director for Servicemembers Legal Defense Network — wed in 2009. They took their firstborn’s name from the Supreme Court’s Gideon v. Wainwright ruling ordering states to pay for public defenders. “We hope he will be inspired to follow his family’s long tradition,” McKean said in a statement, “of being outraged against injustice.”
